Amrita Hongal Gejje graduated (M.B.B.S.) from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College and Research institute in 2010 and was honored for securing the highest marks in Pharmacology and General Surgery. She pursued her favorite Post-graduation specialty, Dermatology, in the premier Dept. of Dermatology J.J.M. Medical College, Davangere, and became Board Certified Dermatologist in 2014. She secured the 1st rank at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, in Dermatology. She was felicitated with the University Topper award, Dr. T.S. Sambasivan Gold medal, and Dr. K S Ravindranath Gold Medal. She has visited and underwent training in the Dermatology Department of Bangalore Medical College, Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Cutis skin center in Bangalore, and Derma Clinic in Lucknow.
After developing an immense interest in LASERS, she pursued her interest. She completed a Fellowship in Dermatological Laser surgery at the prestigious Ramathibodi Laser Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, working with renowned dermatologist Dr. Atchima Suwanchinda M D (Consultant in laser and dermatologic surgery, International Training Center in Laser Center, Ramathibodhi University Hospital, Founder and Medical Director of M.E.D.I.S.C.I. Medical Center, Bio integrative Anti- aging and Cosmetic Center).
Later she worked as a consultant Dermatologist and Cosmetologist in the Kaya Skin Care Clinics in Bangalore and Kolkota, gaining immense exposure to aesthetic dermatology. She has also visited the dermatology departments of M D Anderson Cancer Center (shadowed Dr. Deborah Mac Farlane MD, Director and Professor, Dept of Dermatology), Memorial Sloan Kettering Center (shadowed Dr. Anthony Rossi), and the University Of California (followed Dr. Christopher Zachary MD, Professor and Chair, Department of Dermatology) in 2015.
Having presented several papers, attended workshops at National and International Dermatological conferences, including the International Congress of Dermatology, New Delhi, E.S.P.R.A.S. 2014 Edinburgh Scotland and World Congress Of Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery 2016, Bangkok. She has also been the recipient of many awards/honors, including Best Outgoing Pupil 2002, Karnataka College Platinum Jubilee Dr. G.V. Joshi award [2004], Galderma P.G. Academic Award 2013, 2nd prize for poster presentation at Cuticon Karnataka 2013, Shimoga, 3rd prize at Karnataka State level-National Dermatology Quiz at Cuticon Karnataka 2013, Shimoga, 1st prize in the post-graduate quiz at State level C.M.E. on Leprosy-2014 held at Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bangalore and Part of team adjudged as “ one of the significant contributors to the scientific material of E.S.P.R.A.S. 2014 (European Society of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery).
