Liposuction (body contouring)

It is not a weight-loss solution but rather a cosmetic procedure designed to target stubborn fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise.

Here’s how the procedure typically works:

  1. Consultation: The process begins with a consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon. During this consultation, the surgeon will evaluate your medical history, current health status, and discuss your expectations and goals for the procedure. They will also assess the areas you want to target for fat removal.

  2. Anesthesia: On the day of the surgery, the patient will be given either local anesthesia (numbing only the specific areas being treated) or general anesthesia (putting the patient to sleep).

  3. Incision: Once the anesthesia has taken effect, the surgeon will make small incisions in inconspicuous locations near the targeted areas.

  4. Fat Removal: Through the incisions, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted into the fatty tissue. The surgeon will then use the cannula to break up the fat cells and suction them out of the body.

  5. Closure: After the fat removal process is complete, the incisions are closed using sutures or surgical tape.

  6. Recovery: Following the procedure, patients typically need to wear compression garments to help reduce swelling and support the newly contoured areas. Recovery time can vary depending on the extent of the liposuction and individual healing rates.
